Joyful end to the sporting year
Our sporting year came to a joyful and good-humoured close with our annual athletic sports day on Tuesday 25th June. This year's event, organised by our Head of Sport, Mr Leach, featured 100m, 400m, 1500m and relay races, together with Long Jump and Shot Put. One or two records were broken, which means we are still getting better, after 11 years!
The Houses (resplendent in warlike face paint!) were easily identifiable in their different House colours. The day's winners were Cathelineau (pictured above.) |
Brevet results
From a class of 10, our 3ème/Year 10 boys did well in their gruelling Brevet (DNB) examinations. Although, unfortunately, two didn't make the grade, 8 passed, 2 with 'Mention Assez Bien' and 2 with 'Mention Très Bien'. It was especially gratifying to see some boys with full marks, and near full marks in some subjects. The boys who received a MENTION were Louis Dubrule and Arnaud de Ponbriand (TRES BIEN) with Jean Suire Duron and Pierre de Brosses (MENTION ASSEZ BIEN). Well done, boys!
The GCSE and A-level results will not be available uintil late August. |
Joseph and our final 'adieux' ...
The last day of school, 28th June, was marked by a beautiful Mass featuring music from Mozart's Coronation Mass and Laudate Dominum (with Inès Hubert Chiché, Mr Tyldesley, Mr Matteoli and Mr McDermott as soloists). Inès Hubert Chiché's singing was a wonderful treat for us all, and a beautiful and prayerful end to the year. Thank-you!
Thank-you also to the Choir, Mr Lloyd and Mr Tyldesley for all the hard work that went into our music this term, preparing for this day, and also for the wedding of Mr and Mrs Hyacinthe de Moulins on 25th May, where the Choir also sang beautifully.

Also on the last day of school (a busy day!) after our traditional Prize-giving ceremony, we enjoyed a performance of songs from the musical Joseph, directed and embellished with a new comic script by Mr Tyldesley. Charles Eric Lorin stole the show in the title rôle, but there were some fantastic supporting performances, often showing a great talent for comic acting as well as for music. It was fun and very moving show. you can check out more photos on the College's facebook page
The evening featured a Dinner and Dance, with our favourite DJ Tony. |
