Summer Registration for Wingra Classes is Open!

Regular classes on Lake Wingra have a 15 person limit, so pick out the times that work best for you and get regsitered for Log Rolling and Boom Running on the Lake this Summer!
Session 1: Monday June 15th - Tuesday July 21st
Intersession:(no classes during the Lumberjack World Championships): July 22nd - July 26th July 23rd - July 27th Session 2: Monday July 27th - Tuesday September 1st
Regular and Advanced Classes
Regular Classes: Our most popular option, regular classes are open to all ages and abilities, and are capped at a maximum of 15 students. Join us at beautiful Lake Wingra twice a week for an hour of instruction, drills, and games.
Advanced Classes: Challenge yourself and others in this one hour class designed to prepare rollers for competition. All ages are welcome, but participants must be able to stay on a #2 log for 2 minutes.
Log Rolling Class Options:
All Levels A ($85/session): Monday/Wednesday 5pm All Levels B ($85/session): Tuesday/Thursday 10:30am All Levels C ($85/session): Tuesday/Thursday 5pm Advanced ($85/session- must be able to stay on log for 2 minutes): Monday/Wednesday 6pm
Beginner/Novice Drop in Class Options - Good with 6-class ($60) or 10-class ($80) Passes
Specifically geared towards novice rollers, these classes offer maximum scheduling flexibility. Choose a 6- or 10- class pass and use it any Wednesday or Thursday night during either of our sessions (please note there will be no drop in classes during our intersession break July 22-26). Class size may vary.

Thursday 6-7pm (All Ages)
Lager Loggers
Join our competitive adults-only league for the t-shirt, stay for the beer (and the camaraderie). After practice on league nights, we head to Gates & Brovi on Monroe Street for 20% off of their delicious appetizers and a free pitcher of beer for every 5 participants. The last Tuesday of each month we will hold an in-class competition with prizes! You will also receive a free entry to a tournament of your choice. (Cost: $30)
Tuesdays 6-7pm
Open Log Rolling ($50 for entire summer or $5 cash at class)
Five Dollar Friday Fun! What better way to end the work week than joining us for snacks and log rolling at Wingra? This is not a class, but instructors will be on hand to supervise as you practice the skills you've learned in class. Hit up Michael's or Gates & Brovi afterwards for a post workout treat J Friday Fun is open to anyone enrolled in any 2015 Summer Session MLR class. $5/day or $50 for the summer.
Fridays 5-7pm
Boom Running Class ($60/session)
- 1 hour of instruction from 1 qualified boom runner
- Class size limited to 10 students
- *Must be 18 years or older (or invited by instructor) to participate
- *Must have access to log rolling spikes.
Monday/Wednesday 5-6pm
Lumberjack (or Jill!) Birthday Party
Celebrate in the sun and the water with this unique party idea! Parties include a brief introduction to logrolling (including history), 1 hour of instruction, a mini tournament, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals, and a gift for the birthday boy or girl. Wingra park is an ideal location for picnicking and cake afterwards.
Cost: $95 for 10 lumberjacks or Jills and $5 per additional participant
Office Party/Corporate Team Building Event
Get outdoors and try something new with your teammates or colleagues! Events include a brief introduction to logrolling (including history), 1 hour of instruction, a mini tournament, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place medals.

We are offering guest passes this year for $10 each. Receive a free pass with registration, or register before April 5th and get 3 free passes. Does your log roller attend a summer camp? Contact us about arranging a log rolling field trip. Please note this change to our make up policy: If a student misses a class for any reason including a weather cancelation, it may be made up during any other class time during that session. If classes are canceled within the last week of a session, they may be made up during the first two weeks of the following session. |
