Charity Navigator Changes Its Rating System

Charity Navigator has updated the system it uses to rate nonprofits, which it now calls "CN 2.1". Among the changes is that Charity Navigator will look at an average from the last three years of financial data, not just the most recent year, for a variety of factors, and a new liabilities to assets ratio metric.

Giving USA Reports $373.25 Billion Donated in 2015

The latest Giving USA report breaks down the more than $373 billion in donations received in 2015, up 4.1% from 2014. 2015's biggest winners were international affairs organizations which, after two years of declines in donations, saw a 17.5% increase.
