"When I speak on college campuses, I invite students to guess the number of people who work in the nonprofit sector in their state and the average salary of a local nonprofit executive. They substantially under-estimate each (the last time I did this in Wisconsin the high estimates were 25,000 and $45,000 versus the actual numbers of approximately 270,000 and $125,000). We need to spread the word about our sector's assets for ambitious young adults."
