Center Continues CEO Search, Hires Experienced Interim CEO
Mike Ostrowski 
The NH Center for Nonprofits has hired Mike Ostrowski, recently retired President & CEO of Child and Family Services of NH and former Center board member, to serve as Interim CEO while the board continues its search for a permanent replacement. Ostrowski succeeds Mary Ellen Jackson, who served as the Center's Executive Director for the past decade.

.NGO and .ONG Domains Now Available

Nonprofits can now register websites at two new domains, .NGO and .ONG. Unlike the more common .ORG domain, .NGO and .ONG are available exclusively to nonprofits, who must verify their tax-exempt status before registering.

Philanthropist's Suicide Sparks Debate over Direct Mail Appeals in UK

The friends and family of Olive Cooke, a 92-year-old philanthropist and volunteer who committed suicide, claim that the more than 260 fundraising appeals she received every month may have been a factor in her death. This has sparked debate, within and outside the UK fundraising community, on whether or not new rules or regulations are needed.

IRS Seeks to Define Political Activity for Nonprofits

The New York Times reports that the IRS could draft new regulations for nonprofit political activity soon, but not soon enough to affect the 2016 election. This comes as many groups are calling for increased scrutiny of "dark money" and super PACs, including sending a letter directly to many of the major US news outlets.
