A glimpse into the life and thoughts of an artist

"Enso I"
Does the world ever look different to you? Does it appear lighter or darker from one day to the next? Do you ever feel like you are losing your sense of continuity?

Perhaps the world is changing. Then again, perhaps it is us.

Maybe it is the time of year, but lately I have felt the strong desire to cocoon myself, to insulate myself from the world.

Since I live in a land where the temperature only fluctuates 10-15 degrees between winter and summer, I don't believe the climate is driving my desire.
"Digging Down Deeper"
Rather, I feel the need to go within. I want to "Dig Down Deeper", to find out what feels REAL and TRUE for me, so that I can bring it out to share it with the rest of the world.
"Creation"
What on Earth makes me think the rest of the world wants, needs, or cares about what might be lurking deep within me? Why else would I have this strong a desire?

Here's the thing, we live in a world increasingly interconnected on many levels. The time has come for us to honor our connections and to disconnect from those things that no longer serve us.

Think about it. Are you using your time and your life wisely? Do you feel good about all of the things you pay attention to? Are there other people, places, or things that are calling to you?

During this holiday season, please take the time to carve out ten or fifteen minutes just for you to sit with some of these questions.

Yes, it might feel uncomfortable at first. You might want to run from the room as though your hair is on fire. Yet I am willing to bet that if you take time for yourself before you start your day (or at the end of another long day), little by little, you will come to know what matters to you most, and where you want to spend your time and energy.

What better gift could you give to yourself, and to the world, than to truly get to know yourself better?
"Enso II"
Oh, right, you could also gift yourself, or a loved one, with an original painting or a canvas giclée of one of my images. Please go to www.artofaloha.com to see what is available.

If you feel drawn to one of the images in this newsletter, please send me an email (they are not yet online), I will give you all the details.

Stay tuned next year to see my new and improved website, including my Abstract Art Portfolio!

in which to work. To give an artist leisure
is actually to take part in his creation.
