In The Holiday Spirit

Earnings from The Arc's endowment helped purchase holiday decorations for 32 homes in our Community Living program. Christmas trees, menorahs, and lots of cheerful décor warmed up the homes and everyone had fun shopping and selecting what they wanted.

Please don't forget The Arc in your holiday giving. Select the program most meaningful to you and help us make a difference. Go to www.thearcbaltimore.org/donate. Click here to see more pictures.

Celebrating Our Employees

At a luncheon on December 9th, The Arc Baltimore recognized the Employees of the Month for 2015. Their supervisors attended and gave examples of how each staff person goes above and beyond their day-to-day job duties to ensure the individuals supported by The Arc have the best life possible. Congratulations to all those recognized!

Wings For Autism Takes Flight

Earlier this month, over 70 families and two dozen volunteers from across Maryland participated in Wings for Autism. The Arc Baltimore and other chapters of The Arc partnered with  BWISouthwest Airlines, Airmall and TSA to make this event happen.

Wings for Autism offers individuals with autism or other intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families a chance to practice entering the airport, obtaining boarding passes, going through security, and boarding a plane.

Read about a father and his son's experience called A Wing And A Prayer from the Dad Enough blog.

Feel free to use the social narrative document with your family that provides visuals for a day at the airport.
