Thanksgiving is a time to think about for what and whom we are grateful. We at The Arc Baltimore are grateful for the wonderful people that completed over 5,000 volunteer and intern hours since July. You help us fulfill our mission and make a difference in the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Our Sincerest Thanks,

The Arc Baltimore is always looking for people to volunteer their time and talent with the individuals we support. Do you have a hobby you are passionate about such as scrap booking, photography, painting, cooking or sewing? Consider sharing that interest with people who receive services from The Arc. A volunteer can be a teacher, a mentor or a friend. Being with that person can change their life and yours. Day time and night time hours are available. You can start exploring by visiting our volunteer page on our website or contacting Debbie Staigerwald, our director of volunteers & interns at 410-296-2272 ext. 5216. It's never too late or too early to make a difference in someone's life. Why not start today!

Over 100 guests of The Arc Baltimore enjoyed a 10th anniversary celebration of our Employers of Distinction - giving accolades to the many companies employing people with developmental disabilities in Greater Baltimore - and for our good friend John Dinkel, president & publisher of the Baltimore Business Journal, for his commitment to showcasing these companies. Secretary of Commerce Mike Gill and Secretary of Disabilities Carol Beatty presented a Lifetime Achievement award to John on behalf of The Arc. Numerous other appointed and elected officials attended along with many of the companies who employ workers supported on the job by The Arc Baltimore. Click here for more pictures from the event.

Giving Tuesday Is Back
The Arc Baltimore is proud to be a partner of Giving Tuesday on December 1, 2015.
This December, 70 children and adults with autism and other developmental disabilities will participate in Wings For Autism and have a practice run at what can be a traumatic experience for someone with sensory challenges - airport travel. So, after you enjoy turkey on Thanksgiving, shop till you drop on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we ask that you save some to give away on #GivingTuesday.

Adopt A Family This Holiday Season
Outreach and Family Services always provides special assistance to our families to ensure they can enjoy holiday meals and gift giving/receiving opportunities in November and December. We need your help to make it happen.
We invite groups or any caring person to consider adopting a family of children with disabilities. If you would like to collect/purchase all the fixin's for a traditional meal, let us know. We have a suggested grocery list. Or help us fulfill the wishes of some of the children and their parents (who never want anything, but we insist they get gifts too!).
For a family food list or to adopt a family and receive all the ages, gender info, clothing sizes, etc., contact Mercedes Thompson or 410-296-2272 ext. 5318.
