Art In The Round Tickets Now Available


Art in the Round is an exhibit and silent auction that includes 75 pieces of amazing artwork by people with developmental disabilities. In addition, it's a feast and a heck of a party. Tickets are now available! This year's event is going to be better than ever. We are excited about our new venue - the Grand Lodge of Maryland. We will have new and improved mobile bidding, Pixilated Photo Booth is back, a themed menu and a specialty drink offering! We hope you plan to be among the 400+ guests we expect will attend this year on October 16th.

Education Series: Funding & Benefits
  
Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) eligibility and funding will be discussed, as well as how benefits (such as SSI) interface with DDA funding.

Sibshops - Upcoming Dates

Please come and join us for The Arc Baltimore's free monthly peer support workshop, Sibshops.  Each workshop allows brothers and sisters of children with special needs to participate in a fun, energetic, and activity driven experience.  Sibshops intermingles discussion activities, games, play, food, and most of all peer support.

Deadline For Art Submissions Is Less Than Two Weeks Away

 


 
 

Artists of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities looking to have their art showcased and auctioned off at this year's Art in the Round must submit their artwork by Tuesday, September 15. Please don't delay!

 

All artwork must be accompanied by a completed Artist Packet.

 

We will notify selected artists by Wednesday, September 30. Selected artists will receive two complimentary tickets to the event on Friday, October 16 from 7:30 PM - 11:oo PM. Please note that the event is three weeks earlier than normal and it is at a new location, The Grand Lodge of Maryland in Hunt Valley.

The Maryland Developmental Disabilities Council, in partnership with The Arc Maryland and By Their Side presents MDSibs 2015 - a statewide conference for siblings of people with developmental disabilities and others interested in sibling issues.

Improvements to the
LISS Program

 

The Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) has announced improvements to the LISS program, including a new, streamlined application process.

  

Application will be accepted August 1-November 30, 2015

 

Low intensity support services (LISS) assists adults with developmental disabilities and families with a child with developmental disabilities with purchasing services and/or items to address their needs. LISS cannot exceed $2,000. Click here for the application and visit the DDA website for more information.

Parent Support Groups

Join us each month to laugh, cry, and share stories with other parents of children of all ages with developmental disabilities as they discuss the joys and challenges that they and their child face.

Moms Understand

Moms of children of all ages with developmental disabilities meet on the first Wednesday of every month from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. Please RSVP to Dianna Morgan at 410-296-2272, ext. 5311.

Moms Understand II
Moms of adult children with developmental disabilities meet on the third Thursday of every month from 12:30 - 2:30 pm. Please RSVP to Swanisha Hinton at 410-296-2272 ext. 5306.
