A group from The Arc Baltimore, led by Mary Youngert from the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, took a tour of Mars Supermarket in Dundalk. This program, Cooking Matters, part of the No Kid Hungry Campaign, brings together community partners to help fight hunger at the local level. The tour teaches people how to shop smarter, use nutrition information to make healthier choices, and cook delicious and affordable meals. Each member of the tour received a $10.00 gift card to Mars Supermarkets.

The School of Pharmacy at Notre Dame of Maryland University internship program presented an all-day health fair for supported individuals and staff at The Arc Baltimore. The students presented seminars on diabetes, health and nutrition, and many other topics. They set up stations where folks could get a blood pressure screening, information about dental care, weight management, and a seated massage. Lunch was provided and lots of give-a-ways and raffles. It was a fun day of learning about healthy living!
