October Is Disability Employment Awareness Month
The Arc Baltimore's annual Employers of Distinction awards reception celebrates those companies and organizations that employ individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). This year's event will showcase a panel of employers who will discuss their personal experience in hiring individuals with I/DD. It will be held on Wednesday, October 29th at North Baltimore Plaza in Timonium, at 8:00-9:30 am (registration begins at 7:30am). If you are interested in learning more or might like to attend, contact Lauren Seabolt at 410-296-2272 ext. 5210. Here are our award recipients:
Employers of Distinction
The Arc Baltimore recognizes Miller's Minuteman Press, who employs people with I/DD and provides them with a supportive work environment that allows the individuals to be successful and to contribute to their company's success.
Partners of Distinction
The Arc Baltimore recognizes Cardinal Health and PDP Group, Inc. as our Partners of Distinction. These companies provide similar opportunities for employees with I/DD but do so through contracts.
Outstanding Supported Employee
The Arc Baltimore recognizes Lee Levinson as the year's Outstanding Supported Employee. After interning and volunteering through Project SEARCH in the MedStar pharmacy, Lee was hired full time. Since Lee started, the pharmacy had an increase in revenue and had the greatest increase of prescription deliveries and sales ever. Congratulations, Lee! |
