November News. Let's Go Diving!
HydroSports Dive and Travel, Salem-Keizer OregonMeetup Badge
Greetings

By now we're fully engaged in Fall, raking leaves, dodging rain drops, installing new wiper blades on our cars. For divers "in the know" this means some of the best diving conditions of the year. Two weeks ago divers at the Yellow House were treated to 50 foot visibility and flat seas. We can anticipate similar conditions for the next three to four months (unless we dive during a rain storm when runoff can cloud the surface).

Kristen, Jay and I just returned from the Dive Equipment Marketing Association trade show in Orlando, Florida. This is the dive industries largest international show, hosting manufacturers, travel destinations, instructional agencies, dive history associations, conservation groups, magazines and all things SCUBA.

Kristen and Jay completed their Instructor Development Course Staff Instructor training and are now able to conduct the PADI Assistant Instructor Course and help me conduct the Instructor Development Course. Kristen and Jay join several other HydroSports staff as IDC Staff Instructors, Steve Camden, Pat Kirkpatrick, Ryan Thornton and Ken Rymal.

The DEMA show gives us the opportunity to seek new, innovative and exciting products and services for our dive community. Hold on to your hat, we have new products and services coming in the next few weeks.

Would you like to be the first to hear about our new products and services and receive bonus savings on new items? If so, click THIS LINK and I'll add you to our Preferred Shopper list.

wisdomTanks-Giving Sale

We found great values on Faber steel and Luxfer aluminum tanks at the DEMA Show last week. We have the opportunity to adjust our order Friday November 22 to take advantage of free shipping on all tanks included in the order.

Order by Thursday November 21 to take advantage of free freight. Click HERE for the Sale Flyer.

Faber steel cylinders come in low, mid and high pressure ratings and range in volume from 12 cubic feet to 149 cubic feet. Sprayed with zinc galvanizing then coated with epoxy and clear coat, Faber cylinders have been my favorite for nearly 20 years. Luxfer aluminum cylinders have been an industry standard for decades. Specifications at http://bluesteelllc.com

These Tanks-Giving prices are valid November 14 to 21. Prices will go up $10 per cylinder on Friday November 22. Phone orders are welcome.

Tanks must be paid at the time of order to take advantage of the promotional price. Tanks ordered after November 22 must be paid prior to November 30 to take advantage of the sale price.

silo Dive Catalina Island, Spring Break 2014

March 24 to 28

Our 2014 Spring Break trip to Catalina is filling up. Join us for four nights and three days of Spring diving on Catalina Island, 26 miles off shore from Los Angeles, California. This is a great trip for divers and non-divers alike. King Neptune Dive Boat

We board the Catalina Express on Monday, March 24 at 11 AM and arrive in Avalon for lunch. We'll check in at the dive shop, sign release forms and wander about Avalon for the day. If we're ultra excited to dive, we can make a dive at the Casino Point Marine Park.

We will spend the next four nights at the newly renovated Catalina Canyon Resort. Tuesday and Wednesday we'll be diving from the deck of the 56 foot King Neptune operated by Catalina Scuba Luv. We'll dive the best sites on the island. We'll be back to Avalon midafternoon in time for a shower, a walk through town and dinner.

Thursday we dive at the Casino Point Marine Park, some of the best shore diving in California. Thursday night we have the opportunity to take in a first run film at the Casino Point Theater, the first movie theatre build for "talkies" and an outstanding example of early 20th century architecture.

Friday we board the ferry for our return to Long Beach late in the morning.

The trip cost for each diver is $725. Non-divers come with us for $399
