Are You Registered to Vote?--
Save Time and Pre-register at MNVotes.org
On May 10, Westonka residents will vote on a single-question bond referendum to build a 600-seat performing arts center and a community athletics and recreation center at Mound Westonka High School.

Save time at the polls and pre-register to vote through April 19 on the Minnesota Secretary of State's MNVotes website. There, you can also check your polling location or download and print off an absentee ballot application.

Grandview Student's Visit to Capitol--
Ends with House Resolution
Grandview Middle School seventh-grader Michael Kurtz and Future Problem Solvers advisor Julie Taintor visited the Minnesota State Capitol March 15 and met with Rep. Cindy Pugh during an event called "Homeless on the Hill." 

The productive visit ended with a new Minnesota House of Representatives resolution.

Students 'Stuff' Bus with Food, Funds--
For Westonka Food Shelf
The third annual "Stuff the Bus" event in the Westonka School District on March 18 was another success. 

The districtwide effort involved all schools, each of which used creative ways of encouraging donations of cash, food and other needed items for the Westonka Food Shelf.

Save the Date for DECA Bingo--
April 6 at MWHS
The Mound Westonka High School DECA Chapter is excited to be bringing 20 students to the DECA International Career Development Conference in Nashville April 23-27. To cover the expenses of the competition, each student must raise over $800. 

The Chapter invites students, staff, family, friends and community members to support the Internationals competitors and Discover MWHS DECA at the annual fundraiser on Wednesday, April 6, in the MWHS cafeteria.

Food fill-up: Westonka students fill a bus for food shelf
Students lined the entryway to Hilltop Primary School with the kind of excitement and cheers that are normally reserved for pep rallies.

Hands-on and heart safe
All of the roughly 900 students at Mound Westonka High School spent an hour and a half of their day on March 10 in an AED/CPR training, learning how to potentially save the life of a person experiencing cardiac arrest.

Annual sale supports Westonka Early Childhood, ECFE and community
For the Westonka Early Childhood Council, the upcoming 21st annual Kids' Stuff Sale on April 30 will be a huge fundraiser for Westonka Early Childhood and Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE).

Absentee voting begins March 25 for upcoming Westonka referendum
On Friday, March 25, residents of the Westonka School District can begin absentee or early voting for the May 10 special election on the $22.9 million bond question.

Music staff share their work with Westonka school board
The Westonka School Board heard from the district's music educators at the board's March 14 meeting.
