2016 Bond Referendum Video--
Highlights District Space Constraints
May 10, 2016 Bond Referendum

A one-question referendum on May 10 will ask voters to approve $22.95 million in bond funding, payable over 15 years, for the purposes of building a 600-seat performing arts center and a community athletics and recreation center at Mound Westonka High School. The total cost translates to approximately $6.33/month on the average ($300,000) home.

MWHS Thespians Earn Spotlight Awards--
For 'Little Shop of Horrors'
The Mound Westonka High School 2015 fall musical production of "Little Shop of Horrors" earned several honors from the Hennepin Theatre Trust Spotlight Musical Theatre Program. 

Following a successful run in November, the company received Honorable Mention for Overall Performance of a Musical. 

Applegate Competes in Four Events--
At Jr. National Freestyle Skiing Championships
Grandview Middle School seventh-grader Bode Applegate has once again qualified for the USSA Junior National Freestyle Skiing Championships in Sun Valley, Idaho. 

He will compete in aerials, moguls, big air and half pipe March 7-13.

Over 350 Musicians Gear Up--
For All-District Band Concert
trumpet.jpg Over 350 Westonka students in grades 5-12 are gearing up for the biggest band event of the year. The All-District Band Concert will be held Sunday, March 13, at 2 p.m. in the Mound Westonka High School gym. 

Third Annual 'Stuff the Bus' Drive--
Concludes March 18
School Bus
For the third consecutive year, Westonka Schools will "Stuff the Bus" with food and other needed items for the Westonka Food Shelf. On March 18, a school bus will drive to each school in the Westonka District to be packed with donations collected during each school's drive.

Westonka Food and Nutrition Services Director Laura Metzger, who also serves as president for the Minnesota School Nutrition Association, promotes National Breakfast Week.

The Mound Westonka Peewee A team has been ranked as one of top three teams in the state most of the season.

Seven Seniors Honored at Boys Basketball Banquet
The White Hawks boys basketball team held its end-of-season banquet March 4 at the Gillespie Center in Mound.


Wrestling Team Hands Out End-of-Season Awards
The Mound Westonka wrestling squad held its end-of-season banquet on March 8 at the Gillespie Center in Mound, concluding an excellent season. The team earned the Gold Academic Award from the Minnesota Wrestling Coaches Association for a 3.51 team GPA.
