Westonka Artists Earn Ribbons--
At the Great Minnesota Get-Together
The Westonka School District was well represented in the art competition at the Minnesota State Fair this summer. Student artists from Westonka historically have had a high number of ribbon winners at the fair, and this year was no exception.

From kindergartners to high school seniors, each grade was represented as students brought home dozens of ribbons, despite stiff competition from across the state.

White Hawks Name Honorary Captains--
At Home Football Games

Mound Westonka High School added a new captain to its roster at the Sept. 11 home football game. Eighty-eight-year-old World War II veteran Russell Whittaker presented the game ball to White Hawks head coach Nick David in a pre-game ceremony Friday night.

At every home game this season, the White Hawks are inviting special guests from the community to serve as honorary captains.

Former Gopher to Lead--

Golden Gopher basketball alumnus Wade Hokenson has been named the new head coach of the Westonka White Hawks boys basketball program.

A native of Watertown, Minnesota, Hokenson has returned to his roots after spending 10 years in out-of-state university settings.

White Hawks Record Third Shutout of Season
The White Hawks football team had a number in mind at the start of the 2015 season: zero.
