MWHS to Conduct Mock Crash--
To Highlight Dangers of Reckless Driving
Every year, alcohol-related crashes claim more than 200 lives in Minnesota and account for nearly 40 percent of all traffic fatalities. In the 15- to 24-year-old age group, nearly half of traffic fatalities are alcohol-related.

Westonka Public Schools, in conjunction with the Minnetrista Police Department, the Mound Fire Department and Ridgeview Medical Center, is taking a proactive approach by educating Mound Westonka High School juniors and seniors about the consequences of drinking and driving through a "mock crash" demonstration on Friday, April 17.

The mock crash will take place from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on the north side of the high school for junior and senior students only. The activity will involve various emergency vehicles and first responders.
