The Mound Westonka High School Hawkettes Dance Team is once again headed to the state tournament! The varsity Jazz and High Kick teams were both named Section Champion at the 3AA Dance Team Tournament, which was held Jan. 31 at MWHS. This marks the 10th time in the last 11 years that the Hawkettes will be competing at state.

"We could not be more proud of the performances this past weekend," coach Molly Carlson said. "They pushed themselves harder than we have ever seen them, and that's all we ask of them; to do their best each time they dance. You could truly see their passion for their sport and for their team in both dances. They were amazing!"

Also advancing to state in the Jazz division are Marshall, which placed second at Sections, and Orono, which placed third. Advancing in the Kick division are Marshall, which placed second, and Hutchinson, which placed third.
