Month of Coding Kicks Off--
At Westonka Primary Schools
When students arrived back to school after winter break, Hilltop and Shirley Hills primary schools kicked off a month of computer coding. After getting a taste of coding during the global Hour of Code in December, students in grades K-4 will spend the month of January participating in a variety of coding activities.

The media specialists at Hilltop and Shirley Hills look forward to working with different coding programs and iPad apps in K-4 Media throughout the month.

Shirley Hills Skating Rink--
Brings Community Together
In the State of Hockey, there is nothing quite like watching young rink rats sail a puck across a sheet of outdoor ice. The outdoor skating rink located at Shirley Hills Primary School-the last of its kind in the Westonka community-is a hot spot for local families during the winter months.

It took a hardworking group of volunteers approximately 28 total hours and 50 separate floods to have the rink ready for this season's grand opening on Dec. 30.
