Both School District Levies Renewed

Staff Kevin Borg Superintendent We at Westonka Schools wish to sincerely thank our community for renewing two school district levies on Nov. 4, which will help us to continue progress in student achievement by preserving funds for teachers, instructional materials and technology.

MSHSL Honors Students--
With Spotlight on Scholarship Awards
The Minnesota State High School League recently awarded 115 Spotlight on Scholarship certificates to Mound Westonka High School students in grades 10-12 for their achievements in the classroom and for their participation in fine arts and athletics.

  

'Band Geeks'--
Hits MWHS Stage

The Mound Westonka High School Theater Department is proud to present "Band Geeks," a high-stepping tribute to high school marching bands and misfits everywhere, as the fall musical this year.

Performances will be held in the theater on Nov. 13, 14 and 15 at 7:30 p.m. and on Nov. 16 at 2 p.m.

  

MWHS Wind Ensemble Performs--
Spooky Halloween Concerts

Decked out in a variety of fun and silly costumes, the members of the Mound Westonka High School Wind Ensemble performed a series of short concerts Halloween morning at Grandview Middle School and at Shirley Hills and Hilltop primary schools.

  

Student Senate to Host Collection Drive--
For WeCAN

Mound Westonka High School advisories and homerooms will be collecting items for the Western Communities Action Network (WeCAN) Monday, Nov. 17 through Friday, Nov. 21.

 

To boost the number of donations, a competition will be held at MWHS. Two first-place rooms and two second-place rooms will receive prizes.

Captains Selected for 2015 Boys Soccer

The Mound Westonka White Hawks varsity soccer team has appointed captains for the 2015 season. Selected to lead the White Hawks' charge were next year's seniors Wilson Strong, Alex LaFortune and Ryan Reid.

Running Trio Earns Foley-Harrison Award

The MWHS cross country team recently announced the recipients of this year's Foley-Harrison Award, which recognizes the top runners. The 2014 winners were senior Jack Smyth, junior Michael Milner and junior Ella Kohls.
