Boys Tennis Returns to State State Boys Tennis Tournament June 3-6 InnerCity Tennis Center, Minneapolis White Hawks vs. Blake Bears Tuesday, June 3 at 8 a.m. For the third consecutive season, the Mound Westonka High School boys tennis team earned the Section 2A Championship to advance to state - the team's fourth appearance in five years! The White Hawks defeated St. Peter 4-3 in the section finals on May 21 at Gustavus Adolphus College. Two White Hawks, senior Arend Turner and sophomore Luke Moorhead, also advanced to state in the individual competition. On Friday, May 23, the teammates faced off in the section finals, with Turner winning the Section 2A Individual Championship. This will be Moorhead's second straight appearance in the state singles tournament; Turner went to state last year in the doubles competition. State Tennis Team Tournament First Round Mound Westonka High School vs. Blake High School Tuesday, June 3 at 8 a.m. InnerCity Tennis Center 4005 Nicollet Avenue S, Minneapolis - If the White Hawks defeat Blake, they will play at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, June 4 at the InnerCity Tennis Center. If they lose Tuesday morning, they will play in the consolation bracket at 4 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. The team tournament runs June 3-4. Click here for the Class A team bracket.
- The individual state tournament runs Thursday and Friday, June 5-6. The Class A singles brackets will be posted to the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) website.
- Admission is free to the state tournament.
