Concert Choir will Take the Stage--
At ACDA State Conference
The Mound Westonka High School Concert Choir has been selected by recorded audition to perform at the 2013 American Choral Directors Association of Minnesota (ACDA-MN) State Conference on Nov. 22.  
 

 

"This is truly an honor - I believe Minnesota has one of the strongest ACDA chapters in the country," said Larson, who compared being chosen to perform at the conference to making the state tournament for an athletic team. 

 
Over 550 Grandfriends--
Visit Shirley Hills

In what has become a long-standing November tradition at Shirley Hills Primary School, over 550 special visitors attended the Nov. 1 Grandfriends Day celebration. 

 

Shirley Hills students performed fantastic grade-level vocal concerts for their grandparents and/or special friends. The guests also had the chance to visit classrooms and a book fair in the media center.  

 
2013 Volleyball Spiketacular--
Two Fun Nights on the Court

The Sixth Annual Westonka Volleyball Spiketacular fundraiser took place Nov. 4 and Nov. 6 at Mound Westonka High School. 

 

The competing teams were comprised of MWHS students, parents and staff, as well as members of the Westonka community. Team Turner (pictured right) won the championship game.

 
Hilltop Third Graders--
D.A.R.E. to be Drug Free
Third graders at Hilltop Primary School celebrated their completion of the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program at a graduation ceremony Nov. 6.
 
Primaries Use Online Galleries--
To Showcase Student Artwork
Hilltop and Shirley Hills primary schools are using an innovative tool to showcase student masterpieces. Each Hilltop and Shirley Hills art student now has his/her own online art gallery on the website artsonia.com

Parents are able to log in to the website to see what has been happening in art class and even have the option to purchase gifts featuring their child's artwork.

The Mound Westonka High School varsity football coaching staff congratulates the five White Hawks who have been recognized by the Wright County Conference for their play on the gridiron this season. MWHS senior Bryan Tierney (pictured left) was named WCC Linebacker of the Year.

Gears Up for Season

The Mound Westonka Nordic Ski Team is hoping for great snow this year as they gear up for a new season. New assistant coach Jesse Bullis (pictured right with his dog, Spark) will join head coach Sue Harrison this season.

Bowling Club Team Finishes Season--

Looks to Conference Championship

The Westonka Bowling Club varsity team finished its season with a 10-8 record, and will compete in the conference championship on Nov. 15, with a chance to earn a berth to the state tournament.

Swim & Dive Divides and Conquers--

Eight Go to State!

The Mound Westonka-Holy Family swim and dive team posted season best times across the board at the Section 3A Conference meet Nov. 7 and 9. The co-op team is required to swim as two separate teams for Sections, and each team will send four swimmers to state.
