For the second straight season, the Mound Westonka High School boys tennis team defeated the St. Peter in the Section 2A tournament to advance to state - the team's third appearance in four years! The White Hawks defeated the Saints 5-2 in the section finals on May 22 at Gustavus Adolphus College. 

Three White Hawks also advanced to state in the individual competition. On Friday, May 24, the doubles team of junior Arend Turner and senior Lucas Valota won the section doubles championship, and freshman Luke Moorhead won the singles championship. This gave the White Hawks a clean sweep of the Section 2A team, doubles and singles tournaments!

Tuesday, June 4 at 2 p.m.

• If MWHS defeats Luverne, they will play at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5 at the Reed-Sweatt Family Tennis Center. If they lose Tuesday afternoon, they will play in the consolation bracket at 6 p.m. Tuesday night. The team tournament runs June 4-5. Click here for the Class A team bracket.
• The individual tennis tournament runs Thursday and Friday, June 6-7. The singles and doubles brackets will be posted to the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) website. 
• Admission is free to the state tournament.
