Westonka Takes a Stand Against Bullying--
Celebrates National Anti-Bullying Month

Long before bullying became a national "buzzword," the Westonka School District was committed to stopping bullying in its tracks. But this year, the middle school and primary schools are doing more than ever before to prevent bullying both inside and outside of school.

In conjunction with National Anti-Bullying Month this October, Grandview Middle School and Shirley Hills and Hilltop primary schools launched creative and interactive anti-bullying campaigns that will continue throughout the school year.

MWHS Wind Ensemble's Halloween Treat--
Annual Music Tour
Fully decked out in Halloween costumes, the members of the Mound Westonka High School Wind Ensemble performed a series of short concerts Halloween morning at Grandview Middle School, Shirley Hills and Hilltop primary schools and Our Lady of the Lake.

"This is an important chance for us to reach out to the community and play music for the younger members of our district," Director Gretchen Chilson said. "The Wind Ensemble really enjoys going back to their old 'stomping grounds' to play for their former teachers, in buildings they are certain were bigger once."
