A Word from Superintendent Borg--
Westonka Receives Good News from Auditors
Staff Kevin Borg Superintendent

Auditors at Monday's board meeting gave the district an unqualified or "clean" opinion--the best opinion a district can receive.

The auditors reported that our district's revenue and expenses came in slightly better than projected last year. Westonka has an unassigned fund balance of $3,187,708 or 15% of general fund expenditures.

This is the result of our community's generous support of our local levies and the hard work and hard decisions made to prepare for the financial uncertainty presented by the state. The complete 2011-2012 audit report is now available online.

Sincerely,

Kevin Borg

Kevin Borg

Superintendent

Feed My Starving Children at MWHS--
Donations Needed to Make MobilePack a Reality

The greater Lake Minnetonka community hopes to package 100,000 meals for children in Haiti by hosting a Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) MobilePack at Mound Westonka High School Nov. 2 and 3. However, donations are still needed to help realize that goal.

To help raise the $22,000 needed to bring the MobilePack to the high school, the Westonka community is encouraged to participate in fundraising initiatives.

Donations can be made online or by mail:
