Snow Sports Canada Picture Perfect for iON
Snow Sports Canada has signed a groundbreaking partnership agreement with iON America, a world-leading Point of View (POV) camera company, about to enter the Canadian marketplace. iON America is well established in the American snow market, having just been the Official Camera Sponsor of the Dew Tour in Breckenridge and signing on a number of high profile snow athletes as part of Team iON. As the official camera of Snow Sports Canada, iON cameras will be used for video capture, enhanced real-time review and performance feedback by technical staff and coaches involved in Canada's premier winter sports organizations.
"Coming into the Canadian marketplace with this multifaceted partnership with Snow Sports Canada is the ideal situation for iON Canada," says Giovanni Tomaselli, Founder and CEO, iON America. "Leveraging seven of Canada's snow sport organizations while introducing our product into the market is incredible. We know that Canada is the land of snow, and we can't think of a better way to reach winter sport enthusiasts who want to capture and immediately share their snow experiences."

CPC launches Sochi 2014 Campaign to build hype around Games
With the Sochi Paralympic Winter Games on the horizon, Canadian sports fans are being treated to a provocative new Paralympic marketing campaign that compels viewers to look past the disabilities of Paralympic athletes - and instead fathom their complete, elite, world-class abilities.
It's not what's missing, it's what's there.
Bold, formidable, energetic. Cross country skier and biathlete Mark Arendz tears up the trails with one arm. Snowboarder Michelle Salt carves the mountain using a prosthetic leg. And sledge hockey players Tyler McGregor and Dominic Larocque, who lost a leg in Afghanistan, dig deep for Team Canada with intensity and pride.
"This campaign is an awesome opportunity to increase awareness and demonstrate what we as Paralympic athletes are capable of," said cross country skier and biathlete Mark Arendz. "I'm so proud to be a part of this project and I hope it will inspire Canadians to follow Team Canada and cheer for us when we compete in Sochi next month.

CCC's Women's Committee - Recipient of CAAWS' Women in Sport Encouragement Fund
The WISE (Women in Sport Encouragement) Fund was created to help support sport initiatives and members of the sport community in delivering programs that enable increased participation and enhanced quality of sport and physical activity experiences for girls and women in Canada. Since 2004, 116 funds totaling more than $115,000 have been disseminated to Canadian leaders and organizations.
"Supporting the delivery of a range of sport and physical activity experiences for girls and women is an important priority for CAAWS," says Karin Lofstrom, executive director of CAAWS. "It helps to ensure that all girls and women have access to quality programs, and plays an important role in reversing drop out rates common in girls and young women stating in the teenage years."
Congratulations to the CCC Women's Committee!

The Maintenance of Certification The National Coaching Certification Program was launched in 1974 to give coaches the confidence to succeed. The program has constantly evolved over the years to stay at the forefront of delivering programs that respect the principles and science of Long-term Athlete Development, while also reflecting the changes within sports - from the science of training, to competition strategy and tactics, to the athletes themselves. The Coaching Association of Canada and its partners, recognize the value of having certified NCCP coaches that are engaged in Professional Development programs which reinforce the values of lifelong learning and sharing amongst the coaching community.

Quote of the Month
"It was like watching an animal stuck in a trap. You can't just sit there and do nothing about it. I wanted him to have dignity as he crossed the finish line. Anybody would do the same thing because we all know how hard this sport really is."
.....Justin Wadsworth after helping Russian skier with broken ski
