Level 3 Officials Course
Cross Country Canada, in cooperation with the Organizing Committee for the 2014 Haywood NorAm and CCC Selection Trials, will host a Level III Officials Course at the Canmore Nordic Centre, from Jan 7 - 12, 2014.
Join us for this exciting opportunity to learn from a variety of our sport's top officials, to share event management experiences and to network with other club, division and national officials.

2014 World Junior/U23 World Nordic
Championships
If you are a potential athlete for the 2014 World Junior/U23 World Nordic Championship, please read this information carefully.
Upon the completion of the World Junior/U23 Trial races, successful athletes will be required to stay in Canmore until departure to Europe. No exceptions will be made. Therefore, when packing for the trial races in Canmore, you must pack assuming you will depart to Europe closely following the final trials race.

Ski Fit North Alberta Blog - Beckie's Update!
 With the first flakes of snow and a winter chill in the air, Ski Fit North Alberta is revving up to roll out another jam-packed winter of programming. Hard to believe that 4 fantastic years have already flown by, but we at SFNA are as inspired and enthusiastic as ever as we continue our work with Alberta's Aboriginal youth.
When I first signed up with SFNA, I had admittedly very little experience with Canada's First-Nations and Metis communities. Though most of these communities are in our back-yard (figuratively speaking), I had never been to one and knew very little about the culture, the customs or the kids we would be working with. Like many Canadians, I was vaguely aware of the socio-economic struggles and difficulties so many of our Aboriginal people live with, but it didn't resonate or feel 'real' until I began travelling to the communities, meeting with leaders, speaking to children and hearing the stories.  Rolling out the Competition-Development NCCP Context
Two Competition Development Dryland workshops have taken place during 2013, the first in the spring in Canmore where 20 coaches took part and the second in Mont Ste Anne this past October where 7 coaches took part. The first Competition Development On Snow workshop recently took place in Canmore this month with 20 participants and will likely be offered again in the east during Spring 2014 to target 2015 Canada Winter Games (CWG) candidates.
2015 CWG coaching eligibility requirements still require old level 3 certification or CCD certified status in the new system for the head coach of each provincial/territorial teams and CCD trained status for all other coaches (excluding team manager and wax technician).
