We are pleased to announce that again this year the MCAR Board of Directors has approved a dues reduction for 2016.
The annual local dues for all current MCAR members will be $40 for the coming year, which is the lowest local Association dues in the state of New Jersey.
Total dues for 2016, which will include National ($155), State ($135) and Local ($40), will be $330. This reflects a $20 advocacy-based dues increase from New Jersey REALTORS®.
Dues for MCAR members are due and payable by Monday, January 4, 2016. You can pay your dues invoice online at Internet Member Services, ims.momls.com, or by sending a check to MCAR, 4000 Rt. 66, One Hovchild Plaza, Suite 210, Tinton Falls, NJ 07753.

This prestigious program comprises two awards: The NJ REALTORS® Circle of Excellence Award and the NJ REALTORS® Distinguished Sales Club application.
The NJ REALTORS® Circle of Excellence Sales Award recognizes those members who have demonstrated excellence in the field of salesmanship.
The NJ REALTORS® Distinguished Sales Club Award is presented to NJ REALTORS® members who have been recipients of the Circle of Excellence Sales Award® for 10 years (which need not be consecutively earned).

MCAR Selects Recipient Of REALTOR® Service Award
|
The MCAR REALTOR® Service Award is presented to a dedicated MCAR member who has rendered outstanding and distinguished service to the real estate profession and to the Association. This award is presented to a REALTOR® or REALTOR®-Associate and is selected by an Awards Committee chosen by the President. We are pleased to announce that the recipient of the 2015 MCAR REALTOR® Service Award is Jack Preston of Woodward Realty!
Jack is a past President and has been a member of our Board of Directors for over 30 years. He has served in some capacity on every single committee we have. Jack is an active member of the real estate community and has helped lead our Association for as long as anyone can remember. Congratulations Jack!

2015 Triple Play REALTOR® Conference and Expo

Thousands of REALTORS® from across New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania gathered at Triple Play 2015 to take advantage of the educational offerings and learn about the latest industry products at the Trade Expo. Attendees also benefited from even more networking opportunities and REALTORS® took advantage of attending sessions that qualified for mandatory Continuing Education credits.
Our MCAR REALTOR® of the Year, Robert White, was recognized at the NJAR® Awards Ceremony, along with MCAR and NJ REALTORS® REALTOR®-Associate of the Year, Mary Nuziale.

An Important Message From Supra and MOMLS

The Monmouth/ Ocean Multiple Listing Service along with Supra will be hosting a Key and Keybox Exchange in January 2016.MONMOUTH ISSUED KEYS AND LOCKBOXES ONLY
The Exchange will take place in both Monmouth and Ocean Counties. The Exchange in Monmouth County will be January 18 - 20 at the Sheraton in Eatontown. The Exchange in Ocean County will be January 21& 22 at the Toms River Hotel. MOMLS participants can attend either location.

Agents who are currently utilizing their smart phone as a lock box key (eKey) do not have to come to the Exchange, UNLESS YOU HAVE A LOCKBOX TO EXCHANGE.

RE Commission Disciplinary Action - Sept.
|
A licensed New Jersey real estate Salesperson, Union County - By Final Order of Determination dated September 16, 2015, the Commission determined the Salesperson to be in violation of N.J.A.C. 11:5-4.1 by actively engaging in the real estate business as a real estate salesperson without the requisite signed Independent Contractor Agreement. A $2,500 fine was imposed.
A formerly licensed New Jersey real estate Broker, Monmouth County - By Consent Order dated September 29, 2015, Broker admitted to being in violation of N.J.A.C. 11:5-3.9(a) by failing to return the licenses of five (5) licensees within five (5) business days of when the Broker ceased to be active and violating N.J.A.C. 11:5-3.9(c) by failing to file an office closing affidavit within thirty (30) days of the date of which the Broker ceased engaging in the real estate brokerage business. A fine of $1,500 was imposed.
An unlicensed person, Hudson County - By Final Order of Determination dated September 4, 2015, the Commission determined said person to be in violation of N.J.S.A. 45:15-9 by becoming unruly and threatening in a licensing test facility. The Commission further determined said person to be in violation of N.J.A.C. 11:5-3.4(a) by referring to a text book during the course of the state examination. Said person is barred from taking the New Jersey real estate salesperson's class and state examination for a period of one (1) year from October 7, 2014, and shall requalify in accordance with the Commission's regulation then in effect.
A licensed New Jersey real estate Broker, Middlesex County - By Consent Order dated September 29, 2015, Broker admitted to being in violation of N.J.A.C. 11:5-4.2(a) by failing to supervise the activities of a salesperson under Broker's employ and to being in violation of N.J.A.C. 11:5-6.4(a) by failing to collect the second deposit in a transaction. A fine of $3,000 was imposed.
A licensed New Jersey real estate Broker-salesperson, Middlesex County - By Consent Order dated September 29, 2015, Broker-salesperson admits to being in violation of N.J.A.C. 11:5-6.4 and N.J.S.A. 45:15-17(a) by failing to collect all deposits as required and by preparing and presenting executed contracts stating the agency was holding said deposits in three separate transactions.

Affiliates Host Holiday Party
|
The MCAR Affiliates hosted yet another successful event recently for our REALTOR® members. Affiliates and REALTORS® came out for the "Eat, Drink and be Merry" party and enjoyed great food, beverages and networking at the Dublin House in Red Bank. And with DJ Tara in the house, a great time was had by all!

In 2016 MOMLS will be offering training classes on the Flexmls system in our Tinton Falls, Manasquan and Toms River offices.

MCAR Offices Holiday Closings
|
The MCAR offices will be closed Dec. 24, 25, 31 and Jan. 1 in observance of the Christmas and New Year holidays.

ZipForms Benefit for REALTORS®
|
New Jersey Realtors® is pleased to announce that in 2016 all members will be provided with a new online forms platform, powered by zipForms®.
At NJ Realtors® we strive to provide the best programs and services for our members and are pleased to let you know that e-signature and broker office management tools will be included at no cost to you.
If you currently use the old platform, Form Simplicity, you will need to transition to using zipForms® by the end of the month. You will not be able to create new, or edit existing, transactions after Dec. 31, 2015.
If you still have forms in Form Simplicity you must download your old transactions and save them to your computer or print no later than February 28, 2016. These forms will not be editable in zipForms®.
Follow this quick guide to start downloading your forms from Form Simplicity and keep an eye out for zipForms® training information soon.
