Big Friendly Read is here!
|
The Summer Reading Challenge is the UK's biggest reading for pleasure programme in libraries for primary school aged children, with 800,000 children taking part last year.
This year's Big Friendly Read Summer Reading Challenge is linking up with the global year-long Roald Dahl 100 celebrations, honouring the world's No.1 storyteller.
The Big Friendly Read features some of Roald Dahl's best-loved characters and the amazing artwork of his principal illustrator, Sir Quentin Blake. You can sign up and take part at your local library.
We have lots of events running too from Roald Dahl craft sessions, Lego events, drawing activities and much more . Special presentation ceremonies to receive Big Friendly Read certificates and medals for those who complete the reading challenge will take place at the end of the summer.

|
A study is being run by the University of Cambridge and Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust to explore the support that people receive after they experience a bereavement. Cambridgeshire Registration Service, and colleagues in Peterborough, are assisting by recruiting individuals to this local pilot. The study will explore bereavement support needs, both immediate and longer term - as with the right support it could make the system more effective for the people that need support, the health system and Local Authorities.
