The Read It Again! Award winner...
The Read It Again! Award final was held in Wisbech. This is Cambridgeshire Libraries' 11th year running the scheme, where school children vote for the best picture book from a newly published author/illustrator.

This year 12,500 school children from across Cambridgeshire engaged in the reading, choosing and voting for their favourite book.

Read It Again! is a unique award for a first-time picture book where the words and pictures are the work of one individual. Thousands of Cambridgeshire children in local schools read, discuss and then vote for their favourite book from a shortlist of eight titles, all by first-time author/illustrators. The award encourages children to discuss books with their classmates and think about what makes a good book.
Open+: reinstating Sunday opening at St Ives Library
Installation work is nearing completion of the Open+ self-service access system at St Ives Library. From mid-August, Open+ will enable the Library Service to reinstate Sunday opening hours 12 - 4pm and extend opening hours on Thursday afternoons, 1:30 - 6pm.

Soon we will be inviting you to register for Open+ and to attend induction sessions at St Ives Library so you can familiarise yourself with the self-service access system.

The Reading Tree and Wisbech Reads
The Reading Tree is situated in the middle of the Market Place and will be officially opened by Wisbech Mayor at 10am on Saturday 9 July. This will also mark the beginning of the second Wisbech Reads Community Festival which is being held in and around the Library, St Peter's Church and the Museum, 10am to 2pm.

Book boxes in the Tree can be opened each morning, so families can sit and share books when their out shopping.

Scams Awareness Month
It's Scams Awareness Month. This years theme is "listening to your gut feeling" and the County Council is calling on residents to act on their initial caution and suspicion that often comes when they get an unexpected phone call, email, mailing or knock at the door.

We are asking you all to help spread the message in your community, particularly with your elderly or more vulnerable friends or neighbours.

Café @ Central Library
The Cafe @ the Library offers a quiet retreat in the centre of Cambridge where customers can relax, read a newspaper, browse the internet whilst enjoying freshly prepared food at very reasonable prices.

A new menu is now available offering morning brunch, junior options, lite bites and afternoon treats.
Have you got an old electrical item that has lost its spark?
Six million waste electrical and electronic items are thrown away every year yet half of them could have been re-used or recycled.

To encourage more recycling, there are five events across the County where you can take your unwanted electricals, that is being run by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Waste Partnership.
