Read it Again! 2016

Now in its eleventh year, Read it Again! is an award for a debut picture book where the words and pictures are the work of one individual.

The winner is selected from a shortlist of eight titles and is judged entirely by children from Cambridgeshire schools who read, discuss and then vote for their favourite.

In 2015, over 14,500 children from 85 local schools took part and chose "Hug Me" by Simona Ciraolo as their favourite.

This year's winner will be announced at a special presentation ceremony in June.

Find out the eight titles on this year's shortlist, all of which are available to borrow from Cambridgeshire Libraries.

Easter at Cambridgeshire Libraries

All Libraries will close on Good Friday (25 March), Easter Sunday (27 March) and Easter Monday (28 March). Library Access Points will close as listed above but might also close on other days. Please check times before visiting. Mobile library route are affected on Good Friday:

M26 and H26 - cancelled (next route visit on Friday 8 April)

C26 - rescheduled for Wednesday 23 March

Public consultations

The Cambridgeshire Libraries and the Cambridgeshire Archives and Local Studies public consultations have ended. We'd like to thank you for taking the time to respond.

Engage - Celebrating 600 Years of Cambridge University Library

Cambridge University Library will deliver a series of talks to celebrate the 600th anniversary of the library. The talks, entitled Unexpected Treasures, will take place at Cambridgeshire Libraries Engage events, and offer an exciting opportunity to learn about unusual and surprising books. Book your tickets now.

Proposed redevelopment of the Milton Road Library site

Carter Jonas and Cambridgeshire Libraries invite you to comment on proposals for the redevelopment of the Milton Road Library site.

Please complete the survey and return to the library or email us by Tuesday 8 March.

Whittlesey Library - temporary closure

Whittlesey Library is closed for essential maintenance and will reopen on Friday 11 March. A mobile library will visit the Market Square in Whittlesey on Monday 7 March, 10am - 4pm.

We apologise for any inconvenience.

The Perfect Pond events

Join author Rebecca Neal for stories and crafts from her children's book The Perfect Pond.

This series of events will take place at Ramsey Library (Tuesday 5 April), Sawtry Library (Wednesday 6 April) and Yaxley Library (Thursday 7 April). Find out more.

NEW STATESMAN - donation offer?

We're trying to track down a very kind lady who offered to donate copies of NEW STATESMAN to the Library Service. Central Library would greatly appreciate copies, as it maintains back files from the 1960s and has been experiencing difficulty obtaining the latest issues.
