2014 marks 100 years since the start of the First World War. You can get involved with the WW1 centenary commemorations at your local library.
Join us on Saturday 8 November, the day before Remembrance Day, for a great family event at Wisbech. Enjoy fantastic displays from groups such as the Western Front Association, WW1 original artefacts, film show of local WW1 photographs and much more. You can also get help with researching members of your own family involved in the Great War. There's children's activities throughout the day.
On Armistice Day, 11 November, again at Wisbech Library, enjoy an entertaining evening of The Music and Songs of WW1 with David Prestidge. Find out about the music of the Great War including the popular music of the day, the songs sung by soldiers and war time composers.
Join Dr Mujahid Islam for an illustrated talk about the history of Indian soldiers who served in the British army during WW1 at Histon Library, Wednesday 12 November, 2pm - 3.30pm.

|
This year's annual Cromwell Collection lecture will take place at Huntingdon Library and Archives on Wednesday 12 November at 7.30pm, when Dr Andrew Barclay will talk about Oliver Cromwell as MP for Cambridge. Cromwell was one of the town's MPs from 1640 onwards, throughout the Civil Wars.
It promises to be a fascinating insight into the devious ways of local government in the 17th century.
