MYTH BUSTERS ON THE AFFORDABILITY OF RVING
Many people long for the freedom, the spontaneity, and the easy lifestyle RVers enjoy. But, most non-RVers insist, they could never afford an RV vacation. They're wrong because RVing is a really affordable alternative.

With luxury motorhomes costing six figures plus gas prices, how could RVing be affordable for the average family?

Let's dispel some myths about RVing and see if an RV vacation makes sense for you... Read More.
TIPS TO DE-WINTERIZE YOUR RECREATIONAL VEHICLE
If your unit was winterized you need to get it ready for use by de-winterizing it. With the bypass for the water heater still in the bypass mode, connect up a hose to your city water connection.

1. Turn the water on and run the taps in the coach until you have no more colouring of the antifreeze.

2. Run all the taps, both hot and cold, flush the toilet, and if you have an exterior shower, run water through both hot and cold.

3. Once the water runs clear for all taps then turn the bypass into the normal mode. This will allow you to fill the hot water tank.

4. In order for the hot water tank to fill right up you will need to open a hot water tap until all the air finishes coming out and you have a steady stream of water.

5. Fill the fresh water tank. As this is filling up, you can check inside cupboards, and exterior compartments where water lines run for any signs of leakage from the system.

6. Now that the hot water tank is full of water, you can run it through the cycle on 120VAC and also with propane as a fuel.

If you have a towed vehicle, you need to hook it up and make sure that the hitch, etc. is all working properly... Read More.
BEST PIT STOPS - VANCOUVER TO OSOYOOS
When you hit the road, it's important to know where to stop for food. While there's nothing wrong with grabbing a little junk from the drive thru, most visitors prefer local, freshly-made fare.

On a recent family trip from Vancouver to Nelson we discovered some great stops, perfect for fuelling up along the Crowsnest (#3) Highway... Read More.
BC FISHING NEWS
April 1st marks the start of another great fishing season. With more than 20,000 lakes, and 750,000 kilometres of streams and rivers, it's easy to experience fishing on your next camping trip in British Columbia. To help find a stocked lake near your camping destination, check the "stocked fishing lakes" box on the Camping and RV in BC where to camp map.

Go Fish BC/Derek Richardson
Anglers 16 and older must purchase a freshwater fishing licence to sport fish in BC. However, effective April 1, 2015, every dollar spent by anglers on fishing licences will go back into BC's recreational fisheries resource. Under a new agreement between the Province and the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC, 100% of revenue generated from fishing licences will be directed to the Society - to invest in services aimed at improving freshwater fisheries in BC. The Freshwater Fisheries Society will receive approximately $10 million annually, a $3 million increase in funds.

The Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation will not be affected by the agreement and will continue to receive 100% of the surcharge revenue collected from angling licence sales to provide grants for fish conservation projects.

For more information on the new funding agreement, or to get the latest stocking reports or fishing tips from the experts, visit gofishbc.com.
