The Key to a Stress-Free Holiday

It only takes 2 minutes to relieve stress...

Here is a quick method that is guaranteed to help you when coping with any stressful situation. It's an ancient Taoist breathing technique that helps the body to relax and the mind to become clearer. You can use it whenever and wherever you find yourself in stressful situation.
Exercise: Three relaxing breaths
- Sit or stand with your mouth closed and your tongue gently resting on your upper palate.
- Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose. Breathe right down into your abdomen, feeling it expand your lungs completely.
- Hold the breath for a moment.
- Exhale slowly through your nose. As you exhale, imagine any stress flowing easily out of your body.
- Hold your lungs empty for a moment.
- Repeat steps 2 through 5 twice.
- Say to yourself, "I am calm and alert."
Another useful anti-stress tool is to use creative visualization. While holding on to your favorite gemstone, envision a quick and easy solution to the problem causing you stress. We tend to attract situations that match our feelings. So when we imagine connecting with solutions that feel good, we are far more likely to find this mirrored in our lives.
