FMI Board Appoints New Vice President!
|
It is with the deepest sorrow that we, the Board of FMI, recently held an emergency meeting, at our chairman Jeff Beacham's request, in order to position the ministry in such a way as to preserve both its past and its future.
As you know, Jeff's health challenges have greatly limited his activities and his ability to actively continue to plow the field for spiritual breakthrough in the Northeast. He has felt it is time to appoint a second-in-command to share in the work and, as necessary, to step in should Jeff be unavailable at some point in time.
It is important to him, and to us, that Jeff's vision for a multi-generational advancement of the Kingdom of God in the Northeast continue. To this end, we have installed Pastor Joshua Kennedy (see right) as Vice President of the organization and as Vice Chairman of the Board.
"Jeff Beacham has taken me under his wing since 2008, spending countless hours investing into me the wisdom and experience he has gained as he has walked with the Lord. Jeff has been greatly used to bring out the Apostolic call on my life.
The Lord sent me to the Northeast in 2004 from the Caribbean where I had ministered for five years. I am located in Egg Harbor Township, NJ serving at Praise Tabernacle where I have overseen the children and youth departments over the past nine years, as well as teaching leadership development.
I have caught the vision Jeff was given for the Northeast regarding the "The Great Wheel of Reawakening." I understand I must first walk in this awakening myself for it to spread to others, so I am in the process of deepening my prayer life, so I can attain greater purpose, receive more power, have more passion, and unite with the wider body of Christ to become the vehicles that He uses to bring sustained Revival.
I am humbled that Jeff has asked me to come alongside him as the Vice President of FMI to assist him in carrying the torch, championing the cause, continuing the great work that God has established in and through him.
My family, including my beautiful wife of 15 years, Loraine and two amazing boys, Elisha 13, and Israel 6, as well as my local church leadership are in full support of this endeavor. FMI will be a regional expression of my ministry alongside my continuing responsibilities at Praise Tabernacle.
Jeff always reminds me that all ministry comes out of relationship. In all my travels with him I have witnessed what amazing friendships he has developed and the importance of maintaining them. I would love the opportunity to continue to build on the relationships he has established and to get to know each of you as well.
I praise God for Jeff's life and it is an honor to help hold up his hands in his dire time of need.
Sincerely,
Pastor Joshua Kennedy"
The vision of FMI is too large for one generation and one person!
"I, Jeff have a lot of confidence in Joshua Kennedy to receive the baton of what God entrusted to me and take it along the next part of the journey to see the Kingdom of God more firmly established, primarily in the Northeast of America. He is in good standing, and plays an active part in all the ministries and networks with which FMI enjoys strong relationships. I would encourage you to receive Joshua where I may have to leave off - The vision lives on!"
The Board of FMI has also installed Melva (see left), Jeff's loving wife and the person who knows best what his wishes are, as a member of the Board. This will further insure that as Joshua might be called upon to carry the work forward, he will be able to do so with the fullest support of Melva's guidance.
Melva and Joshua will have the full support of the current Board throughout any conveyance of authority from Jeff to Joshua should the need arise. This, of course, is to insure continuity of purpose.
SPECIAL APPEAL FROM THE BOARD
In a day when the average life span of traveling ministries is 12-18 months, we would like to highlight the longevity of Firepower Ministries International since it was founded in Australia in 1989.
Through ministry opportunities in many nations beginning in Australia, to finally obeying God's assignment in the Northeast of America from 1999, FMI has endeavored to stay true to the call for 24 years, even in the face of obstacles that would be insurmountable to many.
In this season, when Jeff is currently unable to lead in FMI's financial support, you have an opportunity to sow into a well-established and faithful field of ministry that has produced much fruit over a long period of time! You can invest with confidence!
Jeff also still has the normal expenses of living to meet, besides health costs. We know the Lord will take care of those. Your kind partnership is one of the ways He can do this.
