Recently, there have been some major issues arise in my continuing battle with my health.

The week before, I had severe chest pains that the doctor felt were due to the cancer that has spread to my lungs. He put me on several pain relief medications around the clock, which has helped a lot; however, there are still times of acute pain, which can be very debilitating!

Toward the end of last week, I began losing strength in my left hand (I'm left handed), and currently I am very limited in what I can do. This started spreading to my right hand, but it fortunately, is still functioning at about 80%. 

This is related to the tumor activity going on in the bones of my neck and the lymph nodes on the left side, both affecting the nerves and blood flow to my hands and arms.

I started a course of radiation on Wednesday, which will go for five days a week for a minimum of four weeks, in the hope that it will shrink whatever is going on in my neck and restore some function.

I am also struggling to maintain my appetite and weight. I have lost about ten pounds over the past few months.

In light of this, as you can imagine, I have had to suspend a lot of personal and ministry activity, such as driving and possibly preaching. 

* Every day, there are new and unexpected challenges. It really is just one day at a time with everything!

* Every day I thank God for the good and the bad and I am grateful to Him for every opportunity that these circumstances may bring to give honor and glory to His name.
