I hope all is well with you in every way.
On Wednesday, April 3rd, we went to see the surgeon who had performed my surgery and oversaw the chemo and radiation back in 2009 when I was initially diagnosed with esophageal cancer. A few days earlier I had a PET scan and we wanted to discuss the results with him.
The scan pretty much confirmed what a previous CT scan had revealed; that the disease had spread to my lungs and was increasing in the lymph nodes on the left side of my neck.
However, the PET scan also revealed that there was a small development in my pelvis and tail bone.
This was not welcome news and to make matters worse, it was the surgeon's guess that I would have only two to four months of life left!
It was a bit of a shock to hear that, to say the least, however, back in 2009, he had estimated that I would only have 12-18 months life expectancy! In early 2011, when we discovered the cancer had reoccurred, he said I would have 6-12 months! He's been wrong before and I'm believing God that he will be wrong again this time too.
I have just returned from a week at the Christian Hospital I have been going to for the last two years. This was my fifth visit. Your God-inspired help has enabled me to afford these non-insured treatments for which I will be forever grateful.
On this latest visit, the doctors there examined the same scan results and are very hopeful that their protocols will make a difference and are far more positive about my longevity.
They want me to return next month for a second round and then again in six months for a booster.
This past week I have been struggling with my voice somewhat, which may be due to the drier environment out on the west coast and the incessant cough continues.
However, I have preached three times in California either side of my treatments and seen great fruit as a result.
I must push on regardless of how I feel and
with your help, I have to fight back!
There is still much I need to do to complete my assignment, so it is vital that I continue to fight for my health so I may be able to do all He has called me to do.
The Lord was faithful to provide all that was needed for this last trip, but now we will believe Him to do he same to cover the $7,000 cost of my next trip to the Christian Hospital in a month from now!
Please consider these three things:
1) Let the Lord speak to YOUR heart about this opportunity to stand against this attack on my health. He is no man's debtor! Whatever is sown will reap a bountiful harvest!
2) Each dollar you give transfers life, giving me a better chance of completing everything the Lord wants me to do on His behalf... and YOU will share in the reward!
