Opportunities to Serve and Give...
Check out our recap video to hear about our Latvia Mission Trip and some of the opportunities you have to be a part of the ministries in Latvia. Here's a list of those opportunities:
  • Give to the Hope Center. Any amount helps, and you can simply mark "Hope Center" in the memo of your gift.
  • Give scholarships to Wesley Camp. The current need is for $122 per camper, but any amount helps! Mark "Wesley Camp" in your memo.
  • Support the Latvian Pastors' Salary Fund. The churches in Latvia are not yet able to support their pastors with a living wage, so any gifts to this fund help. Mark "Latvia Pastors" in the memo.
  • Support our covenant congregation, Riga First. Our monthly commitment to Riga First is $450/month. You may give a one-time gift or set up monthly giving. Mark "Riga First Support" in the memo.
  • Go to Latvia. Any of our team members will be happy to contact you and answer any questions you may have.
  • Be a part of building relationships with Riga First. We are always looking for ideas of how we can strengthen our connection.

We invite anyone who is interested in hearing more about Latvia to join us on Monday, July 18, at 7 PM in Room 2001 for our Latvia Share Session! Questions? Contact Bev Campisi (beverlyc@fumcg.org, 817-481-2559 x140), Melissia Mason (melissiam@fumcg.org, 817-481-2559 x109)....»

It's Christmas in July! This is a great time to be collecting school supplies, toys, hygiene items, etc., and planning packing parties for Operation Christmas Child. OCC brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations worldwide through simple, gift-filled shoe boxes and evangelistic materials that tell the Good News of God's love.  If you'd like to donate items, please leave them in the box outside the church office through the month of July. We'll also need volunteers to help with our efforts as we get closer to collection time in the fall. If you're interested in helping, contact Neil Anderson (817-430-1678 or stealthna@charter.net). Visit www.samaritanspurse.org/OCC for more information on what items to donate and details about how to pack a box....»

ATTN: Doctors

Our friends at FUMC in Hurst are planning a mission trip to Panama October 8-16. They are in great need of a physician to accompany the team. This doctor will work with nursing & support staff serving low income patients and doing general family practice/community health medical work. Read more at www.fumchurst.org/panama. If you are interested, please contact Rev. Clint Jones as soon as possible at cjones@fumchurst.org or 817-682-7956

God Can for the GRACE Food Pantry

Don't forget to grab some extra items when you do your grocery shopping! Note that GRACE has recently updated their needs list! They are out of saltines, instant potatoes, jelly, salt and pepper (shakers), juices, chili... and they are low on a number of other items. Click here to view the full list of needs (pdf). If you would like to donate any of these items, please bring your donations to the God Can bins outside the church office or in the Sanctuary Foyer/Atrium.
Opportunities to Grow...

by Fred Rigdon
Breath prayers, sometimes called prayers of the heart, are simple prayers, usually of fewer than eight syllables, that can be repeated to the rhythm of our breathing. They can be said silently or aloud and can be repeated over and over throughout the day. Since they are short and simple prayers, they can help us to follow Paul's command to "pray without ceasing" and to be aware of God's presence throughout the day, even while we are engaged in other activities. Keep reading...>>>

Hispanic Ministry Institute

Our Church hosted a morning seminar this past Saturday, July 9, in the Family Life Center. Justice For Our Neighbors, Maria Macias (Immigration Attorney), Rev. Dean Reed (Executive Director), Representatives from Arapaho UMC (Clinic site), Genesis UMC (Clinic site), and FUMC Grapevine (Clinic site) were our presenters. We had a special guest from the National Justice For Our Neighbors in Washington D.C. give a special testimony about how his life has changed due to JFON. We had 17 people attend from our community, GRACE, Grapevine Police Department-The Outreach Center, and several churches from the community. The event started with breakfast, updates on immigration laws, services JFON provide and ended with Q & A. This is one of several events that will occur throughout the year. The Hispanic Ministry Institute is a ministry that provides training & insight to churches who want to start a Hispanic Ministry.
