Feed Our Kids was started by a few moms in conjunction with GRACE to provide lunches to children who are on free or reduced lunch programs during the school year. This year, our BIG WEEK to serve all the sites is July 11-15. NOTE: We are low on the following items: Individual packages of chips, individual packages of cookies, granola bars. Please bring donations to the church office by Monday July 11. After Feed Our Kids Big Week, we will continue to feed our friends at the Shady Oaks/GRACE site for three more weeks! Come join us as we serve with our neighbors from Shady Oaks providing lunches to 100 children each day. The menus are set, the leadership is in place, now we need you for the fun part!  Pick a day that works for you and come out to Feed Our Kids at Shady Oaks and get to know your neighbors and have some fun! Here's how: Come out to grill hot dogs one day  11:30-12:30. Bring a craft to share with the kids 11:45-12:45. Come and play with the kids 11:45-1:00. Be Our Guest neighborhood meal is served the third Tuesday of each month 6-7 PM in the Family Life Center. This is a home-style meal, open to everyone - individuals, couples and families. Our congregation members serve as hosts and servers for the meal. The menu for July 19 is hamburgers/hot dogs, potato salad, baked beans, watermelon, and ice cream treats. We are excited to host the All-Star Sports Camp in cooperation Triumph Sports again this summer! The Sports Camp is a multi-sport camp consisting of fun games like Dodgeball, Kickball, Capture the Flag, and other games revolving around classic sports like Basketball, Flag Football, and Soccer. Stay Connected with Our College Young Adults
Senior Sunday inspired us all, seeing so many of our young people appreciate the influence First Methodist has had on their lives. One way to gain inspiration to practice the spiritual disciplines and become a disciple of Jesus is to study those who came before us. One such person is Anthony of Egypt, the founder of the Desert Fathers and Mothers. He was the first known ascetic to go into the wilderness in order to focus all of his thoughts on God, and is also considered the founder of organized Christian monasticism. Youth Stories
We have been sharing some of our Youth's stories of faith this summer. Here is another one from a young man in our Middle School class: "I have always grown up going to church, reading the bible and praising God.  Ever since I have been confirmed though, I am going to make it my goal to be a better Christian and to go to church as much as I can."
