Read more at www.fumchurst.org/panama. If you are interested, please contact Rev. Clint Jones as soon as possible regarding for further information at cjones@fumchurst.org or 817-682-7956

Senior Sunday inspired us all, seeing so many of our young people appreciate the influence First Methodist has had on their lives. We heard very passionate messages that made us know the important commitment we have to our children, youth and young adults. Our Campus Angels ministry team is made up of people who want to correspond with those who go away to college to let them know the church does care! If your heart was stirred as we congratulated our 2016 graduates, and if you would like to keep in touch with one of our new college bound or returning college students in the upcoming school year, please sign up online or use the Check-In insert in the bulletin. Questions? Contact Jenna Rosenbaum at jenna.rosenbaum@gmail.com.

They are out of saltines, instant potatoes, jelly, salt and pepper (shakers), juices, chili... and they are low on a number of other items. Click here to view the full list of needs (pdf). If you would like to donate any of these items, please bring your donations to the God Can bins outside the church office or in the Sanctuary Foyer/Atrium.

For July, you are invited to join the Seekers class as they continue with the topic, "Things that Matter: Everyone has a Story."  Various Seekers class members will share their faith journey... Who inspired you along your journey?  Who inspired you in your Spiritual life?  What were your "roots"?  How do you see the world today given your experience? Seekers meets at 9:45 AM in Leach Hall. Here's the schedule of who will share each week:
July 10 - Linda Flippen & Carl Hoffmeyer
July 17 - Rodney Bond & Russ Logan
July 24 - Allen Barraclough & Jim Goss

One way to gain inspiration to practice the spiritual disciplines and become a disciple of Jesus is to study those who came before us. One such person is Anthony of Egypt, the founder of the Desert Fathers and Mothers. He was the first known ascetic to go into the wilderness in order to focus all of his thoughts on God, and is also considered the founder of organized Christian monasticism. While we might consider some of Anthony's practices to be extreme in today's world, we can learn from his humility, piety, and perseverance.

We have been sharing some of our Youth's stories of faith this summer. Here is another one from a young man in our Middle School class: "I have always grown up going to church, reading the bible and praising God.  Ever since I have been confirmed though, I am going to make it my goal to be a better Christian and to go to church as much as I can."
