We need some "elves" for an invitation project on Thursday, December 3, prior to the Grapevine Christmas Parade. On the night of the parade, our church parking lots will be filled with cars of people attending the parade. We want to sweep through our parking lots, placing an invitation to the Christmas season at our church on each vehicle. In addition, as we do it we will say a quiet prayer for each family/car represented.  If you would like to evangelize and exercise, contact Kathi Shaw (kshaw.email@gmail.com) or Cindy Ryan (cindyr@fumcg.org)....>

Opportunities to Grow...

During the season of Advent, we will have daily devotional readings and thoughts that have been written by our pastors, Family Ministries team and some of the children in our congregation. The devotionals will be in both English and Spanish, and will take the place of the 15 and 15 readings throughout the season. You can view the daily devotionals on the 15 and 15 blog, or pick up a printed copy in the foyer/atrium this Sunday.

Prayer for me is a conversation. I did not "learn" to pray until I was almost 40 years old. I didn't know I could talk to God. I didn't know the "right" words. I didn't know the religious jargon. I didn't know the Lord's Prayer. One of my first prayers was with my daughter in Kindermusik. We sang a song, "Thank you God for the sunshine, Thank you God for the blue skies, Thank you God for Mommy & Daddy, and Thank you God for me." We would play with the song, changing out the words, thanking God for the butterflies, or silly things. We would thank God for all of our family members, listing them by name. It was so innocent, so easy, so comfortable and heartfelt. This simple song shaped my prayer life. I still thank God for simple everyday things in simple everyday language. Keep reading...
Caught Caring

A gift has been given to the Permanent Endowment Fund in memory of Charlie Jackson's mom, Ruth Laverne Jackson, by Charles & Carole Battist.

A few weeks ago, GRACE welcomed Bev Campisi and our guest from Kenya, Ishmael Mathiu, for a tour of their facilities. This week we received a note from them, saying, "It is a true honor to meet people who are devoted to helping their community in the name of our Lord & Savior! I have such respect for your congregation and your continued support of those in need. Thank you for the opportunity to connect with your mission!" Thank YOU, GRACE team, for your great work!

Be Our Guest Volunteers
Thank you to all the Be Our Guest shoppers, cooks, set up team, servers, hosts, dessert makers, musicians and dishwashers for a beautiful meal for our neighbors and guests on Tuesday night. We filled 26 tables with hungry, happy guests and all left full and touched by God's warmth and love.
