In Worship This Sunday
All Saints Day
This year, All Saints Day actually falls on a Sunday. Rev. Jenn Pick will share, "The Butterfly Effect," a special message about the ripple effect of lives that end up changing the world. We will have a special time during worship to remember our loved ones who have passed before us. You will have the opportunity to remember your loved ones, celebrate their legacy, and share together with the congregation in Holy Communion. More about worship...

This Sunday is Communion Sunday. We will celebrate Holy Communion in all worship services. Our Communion Offering will go to the World Service Fund, one of the primary funds of the United Methodist Church. Your gifts support missionaries, ministries, new churches, education, and outreach around the world. You may bring your gifts with you to the altar during communion or drop them in the offering plate marked "World Service Fund."
Give 150 for the Next 150
Last Sunday, we asked that you recommit yourself to prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness for the coming year. As you have heard, in 2016 we celebrate 150 years of ministry at FUMC Grapevine. We invite you to be a part of seeding the next 150 years! If you were not here on Sunday, you may submit your commitment online, place your commitment card in the offering plate, or send/bring it to the church office. Additional cards are available in the pews and in the church office. Read more...»

As for our goals, here's where we stand after Commitment Sunday: 173 pledges, totaling $956,523, with 120 step-ups and 73 committed to auto-debit.

Simplicity
Austen Farrer, an English theologian and philosopher, once said, "Do you want to bear fruit for God? Simplify your life, do fewer things and do them well." He was talking about our tendency to let distractions get in the way of our relationship with God. Too often, we complicate our lives by acquiring more than we need to, whether material goods, activities, or relationships. When we spend our lives doing things that keep us busy but don't really matter we sacrifice the things that do. This causes us to put too much of our efforts in the wrong place. Keep reading...

Grapevine Middle School
The staff of Grapevine Middle School welcomed us with open arms this week as we brought Ishmael Mathiu by for a tour of the school. Thanks to Jennifer Lemke (GMS Counselor) and her staff for their hospitality!

Stacy Pacholick, Director of Programs at GRACE, shares the following note:
Thank you for your ongoing support of the GRACE Food Pantry. We receive donations monthly from FUMC, not to mention other support that is on-going. I cannot thank you enough. Without this community support, GRACE would not be able to serve more than 400 families each month at the Pantry. Thank you!
