Stewardship 2016
In 2016, we will celebrate 150 years since the charter of our church. That's 150 years that faithful church members have given of their time, talents, witness and funds to make FUMC Grapevine an active and thriving part of the community. For 2016, we ask that you consider how you can commit to "give 150" through your prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness. That may look different for each person... you may be able to increase your pledge by $150 a month or year. You may want to commit to pray for 10 minutes a day for 15 days up until Commitment Sunday, October 25. You may commit to give $1.50 a day more to the work of the church in 2016. You may dedicate 15 minutes a day to prayer and 15 minutes a day to reading scripture. You may commit to reflect on 150 ways that God has blessed your life. You may dedicate 150 days of the coming year to some type of service or work that helps others. Whatever your commitment to "Give 150" means to you, the decision you make now will affect the next 150 years of ministry at FUMC Grapevine. We ask that you "Give 150" to seed these next 150 years! Studying God's Word
God has given us plenty of Bible verses that remind us of the importance of frequent study of God's Word as a part of our spiritual formation.  Here are some of my favorites: 2 Timothy 3:16-17 - "Every scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for showing mistakes, for correcting, and for training character, so that the person who belongs to God can be equipped to do everything that is good."

Caught Caring

Jarred Treese at VAST
On Monday, September 21, Jarred Treese served as our guest speaker for the VAST enrichment program. A member of the youth praise team, he shared his passion for learning how to play the drums and demonstrated amazing compassion by allowing every student in our program the opportunity to play! Jarred 's caring spirit brightened the lives of these children in countless ways!

Ann Hailey
On October 1, Ann Hailey was honored for her 11 years of leading The Well Women's Ministry.  Thanks to Ann's vision and leadership over the years, an estimated 11,000 women have attended The Well. Of course, some of those 11,000 women were repeat attenders. That represents 22,000 hours that the women in our church and community have spent re-filling, building community and receiving Living Water. Ann helped supply wonderful speakers from all over the nation who made us laugh and cry, shared their real life stories and their faith in Christ. Ann is handing over the leadership of The Well to Jana Howell for 2016. Also, Ann is developing a spin off ministry for women that will be officially launching in 2016. This new ministry will allow women to mentor one another across generations. God is good. We are grateful for Ann and her leadership these past 11 years.

Thank you FUMC Grapevine for providing 9 Sky Ranch Scholarships for the 5th Grade Silver Lake Elementary students! We appreciate your support so much!
