WHY is TED CRUZ running?
He has spent his entire life fighting passionately for limited government, economic growth, and the Constitution.
WHAT makes TED CRUZ a great candidate?
- U.S. Senator from Texas - In the U.S. Senate, Ted has led the fight to repeal Obamacare, to stop President Obama's illegal and unconstitutional executive amnesty, and to defend life, marriage, the First Amendment, the Second Amendment, and our entire Bill of Rights. And most important, he's kept his promise to speak the truth and do what he said he'd do.
- National Republican Senatorial Committee - Appointed vice-chairman in 2012.
- Successful Businessman with Fiscal Experience - Served as partner at the law firm Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, where he led the firm's U.S. Supreme Court and national appellate litigation practice.
- Solicitor General of Texas - Serving from 2003 to 2008, he was the first Hispanic Solicitor General in Texas, the youngest Solicitor General in the entire country and the longest tenured in Texas history.
- Law Clerk at the Supreme Court - Served as law clerk to Chief Justice William Rehnquist, making him the first Hispanic ever to clerk for a Chief Justice of the United States.
- NRA "A+" rating - A strong supporter of our 2nd Amendment rights.
