New IMAX Film: A Beautiful Planet
Witness a breathtaking portrait of Earth from space when A Beautiful Planet opens at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center on Friday, July 1. Narrated by Jennifer Lawrence, our latest IMAX film features stunning footage of our magnificent blue planet captured by the astronauts aboard the International Space Station (ISS). See the power of storms, fires and volcanic activity from space, be dazzled by the aurora borealis and also observe how human activity has dramatically changed our world. More>>

Last Chance to Sign Up for Summer Camps
Science Summer Camps have begun. The last few camp spots available are going fast! This summer kids can learn about computer programming by Modding Minecraft, set sail on the high seas with Ahoy! Arggg! Pirate Camp, stop a zombie outbreak in Balboa Park by joining Zombie Apocalypse Camp and more. More>>

Night of Science: Comic-Con After Party
Join the Fleet for a special 21+ Comic-Con After party! For this event, we kick out the kids, stay open late for adults (21 and up) and serve adult beverages with a night's worth of fun activities. You can dress up as your favorite superhero; walk through a fantastic spider web made of packing tape; check out the Fleet's latest exhibition, Science Fiction, Science Future; and engage in conversations about the science behind some of our favorite comics, TV shows and movies with members of the local science community. More>>

Building With Biology Festival
Science enthusiasts of all ages can design a "super-organism," extract DNA from wheat germ and learn about the emerging field of synthetic biology. The Building with Biology Festival is a part of a nationwide festival of educational programs designed to encourage conversations between the public and scientists. More>>

Visit an Asteroid Challenge
The mission for this month's Saturday Science Club for Girls is to build a launching contraption that will propel and land a scientific device on an "asteroid!" Your device must be able to reach its destination without human interference and land safely on the asteroid's hard exterior. 

Advance registration is recommended. Prices: $12 members; $14 nonmembers. More>>

Genius in the House!
What can take your fun day at the science center to the next level? Genius in the House! This event brings brainiacs from fields such as biology, art, engineering and mathematics to the Fleet once a month (or more often) to enhance the exhibit experience. This month we'll explore robotics with Baltazar Perez of Smart Minds Robotics. More>>
