The City of Santa Monica announces new expanded landscape rebates worth up to $8,000 designed to help homeowners and businesses save water and make the most of the upcoming El Nino rains.
With the forecast for heavy rains from this year's El Nino, recently dubbed "too big to fail" by JPL scientists, this is the ideal time to install a water-wise garden that has beautiful climate-appropriate plants and can collect and use the rain.
Landscape Rebates include:
- Turf and Sprinkler Removal (up to $4,500)
- Parkway turf replacement with climate appropriate plants (up to $1,500)
- Installing rain harvesting system like rain barrels or cisterns ($200 - $2,000) and up to $40 per downspout for redirecting water from gutters
Even if you have already received your rebate for your lawn, you can still apply for additional rebates.
