Tree Hugging Day
Historic Moreton Bay Fig

MARCH 20 SPRING EQUINOX

6 PM - 7 PM

Meeting Place: 101 Wilshire Blvd., Santa Monica, CA

The "hands on" public event - highlighted by a group tree hug - will take place at Santa Monica's historic Moreton Bay Fig Tree located in the courtyard of the Fairmont Miramar Hotel located at 101 Wilshire Blvd., Santa Monica 90401.

The 80-foot tall Santa Monica landmarked Moreton Bay Fig Tree is the second largest of its kind in California, and possibly the United States. It was planted in 1879 at Miramar, the private estate of Senator Percival Jones, who was the founder of Santa Monica. The home has been replaced by the Fairmont Miramar Hotel, but the tree remains.

A Hotel Gone Green
Certified Green Business

The Le Méridien Delfina Hotel Santa Monica strives to improve its own green footprint, as well as that of its guests. The hotel is proof that environmentally responsible living does not preclude sophistication and style.

Le Méridien Delfina has implemented numerous

eco-programs and transformed its signature guest experience into an all encompassing eco-practice.

This luxury hotel is the first on the west coast to pioneer the FDA approved

electrolyzed water cleaning system reducing the purchase of cleaning products and associated plastic waste. |  Faucet aerators fitted in common area restroom hand sinks reduce water flow to 0.5 gallons per minute.
For energy efficiency, Le Meriden recently renovated the hotel facility-wide with LED lighting in common areas, parking garages and guest rooms, resulting in significant energy and cost savings. Retrofits include LED linear tubes.
