Bergamot Area Plan Adopted
| |

September 10, 2013, City Council adopted the Bergamot Area Plan, a comprehensive plan that complements the Expo Light Rail Bergamot Station (opening in 2015) with a new complete neighborhood for living, working and creating. The Plan creates the foundation for sustainability to succeed, including: putting diverse housing near jobs and services; creating the environment for walking, using transit, carpooling and bicycling; requiring sustainable building features and landscaping; and creating a variety of open spaces including green streets and paths.
The Plan also draws from the creativity of the area, which has become a thriving media and arts district over the last few decades, adding the opportunity to introduce restaurants, open space, housing and retail and standards that promote innovative architecture to complement the many creative industries and activities. For more information on the Bergamot Area Plan, visit www.bergamotplan.net.
