Toilet     

Toilet Rebates are Back! 

 

Replacing older toilets can reduce water use by 20% or more.  Santa Monica residents may be eligible for a $50 rebate for installing toilets that have the EPA WaterSense Label.  These new toilets use just 1.28 gallons per flush or less and are tested for high-efficiency and performance.

 

These toilets can be found at local plumbing stores, on-line, and big box stores. Prices start around $120.

 

To get a rebate, go to socalwatersmart.com. Rebates are limited. A copy of the receipt and the water bill are required.  Rebates take about six weeks to process.

Interactive Workshop for the Michigan Avenue Neighborhood Greenway project
  
Saturday, March 16th, 2013 - 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Virginia Avenue Park, Thelma Terry Building, 2200 Virginia Avenue, Santa Monica, CA
  
The workshop will introduce the project objectives and solicit ideas, feedback, and concerns of the surrounding community. After an overview and interactive mapping activity, community members will participate in a one-hour walk or bike audit. The audit will consist of community members assembling in groups to visit the project areas with City staff and the design team to discuss opportunities for improving the public realm. A brief regrouping and discussion will occur afterward. Refreshments, childcare, and Spanish translation will be provided.

The Michigan Avenue Neighborhood Greenway project is envisioned to enhance the pedestrian and cyclist experience along a three-mile corridor on Michigan Avenue and adjoining streets within Santa Monica. Learn more about the project HERE.

The project has been generously funded by a Caltrans Environmental Justice Grant.
