CITY OF CARNATION

Located at the confluence of the Tolt and Snoqualmie Rivers, Carnation is just 45 minutes from Seattle. Carnation was incorporated in 1913. Originally named "Tolt" in honor of the local Snoqualmie Tribe, the area once boasted the main village of the Snoqualmie Native Americans. The locals renamed the town in 1917 to recognize the worldwide success of the nearby Carnation Farms and Carnation Evaporated Milk. Rounded by farmers, hop growers, and loggers, today Carnation is a quaint reminder of small, northwest towns. Visitors to Carnation delight in its agriculture, abundance of natural beauty, outdoor activities, and outdoor experiences - including biking, hiking, camping and fishing. With its unique shops and restaurants and views of tree-covered hills, this town is a picturesque respite from big-city life.
