CKYO Parent Association 
established 2012 
 

We are very proud to announce the formation of the CKYO Parent Association, led by co-chairs Tressa Rowe and Tracy Lovan. 

 

The purpose of the CKYO Parent Association is to lead fundraising efforts, advocate on behalf of CYKO programs, and foster a community of fellowship and cooperation among students, families, and alumni. 

 

Thank you to everyone who attended our first meeting! We are very excited about what this new element will bring to the CKYO community. Look for more communication from Tressa and Tracy moving forward.

Jazz Arts Orchestra Spring 2013 Season 

 

Auditions for the Spring 2013 Season of the CKYO Jazz Arts Orchestra will be held on Tuesday, November 27th, 7pm to 9pm, at Maxwell Street Presbyterian Church. See the Audition Brochure for more detailed information.

 

We are thrilled to announce that this spring the JAO season will conclude with a Special Season Finale Event:  JAO Live At the Lyric Theatre! on Tuesday, April 23, 2013.

The Bluegrass Community Foundation and Smiley Pete Publishing is holding its 2nd Annual GoodGiving Guide Challenge for non-profit organizations in Lexington and the surrounding areas.  
 
Please help CKYO by donating online November 1 - December 31. 

As part of this challenge we are holding a fundraiser at Orange Leaf Self Serve Frozen Yogurt on November 6 (Election Day).

2012 Borchardt Concerto Competition 

On Sunday, October 7, 2012 twenty students prepared and performed concerto movements for a panel of professional judges, an audience of family and friends, and the opportunity to perform with the CKYO Orchestras on an upcoming concert this season. From among the many excellent performances the judges chose three winners who will perform with the CKYO Orchestras this season. We have three wonderful performances in store!
