AYSO at Schlesinger Concert Hall
- DRESS REHEARSAL Monday, Nov. 26, 7:00-9:30 p.m. (arrive by 6:30-6:45 p.m. to park* and be on stage by 7:00 p.m.) Please allow plenty of extra travel time to get to the hall.
- The rehearsal order will be: Berlioz, Debussy, Ravel, Saint-Saëns
- BASS PLAYERS should bring their own stools for use at Schlesinger
- CONCERT Friday, Nov. 30, 8:00 p.m. (arrive by 7:30 p.m. to store instruments backstage and find seat in concert hall)
- IMPORTANT: before the concert begins on Nov. 30th, AYSO musicians will be seated in a designated section of the concert hall to watch AYCO perform. When another orchestra is performing, it is expected that musicians attend the entirety of the concert to learn, show support, and be courteous to the performing musicians.

AYP Musicians
There are space issues at Langley High School causing AYP rehearsals with Mr. Spalding to take place at Longfellow Middle School three more times this season at the regular time 7:00-9:30 p.m. Please mark your calendars: - Monday, December 3

Absence reports that are emailed ( manager@aypo.org) will be noted until 4:00 p.m. the day of a rehearsal, at which time staff members must travel to the rehearsal sites. AYPO Welcomes New General Manager, Eric Schnobrick!
Eric Schnobrick starts as General Manager on Monday, November 19, and plans to visit all orchestra rehearsals, along with Assistant General Manager Alison Lowell. Feel free to introduce yourselves to our newest team member! In 2002 Eric earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance from the State University of New York College at Fredonia. In 2006, he earned two Master of Music degrees in Accompanying and in Opera Coaching from Florida State University. Since graduating, Eric has been Assistant Conductor for the Fort Worth Opera and the New National Theatre YAP (Tokyo), Interim Assistant Chorus Master/Conductor for the Palm Beach Opera (Florida), Staff Conductor/Coach/Accompanist for the Seagle Music Colony (New York), Resident Artist Coach/Accompanist for the Minnesota Opera, Artistic Events and Music Manager at Glimmerglass Festival (New York), and Accompanist for the Alexandria Choral Society (Virginia). Before relocating to the Washington, D.C. area, Eric spent five seasons working for the Glimmerglass Festival in Cooperstown, New York. His years as the Artistic Events and Music Manager provided extensive experience working with people throughout the festival family, including the artists, orchestra, patrons and donors, stage managers, A/V crews, and front of house staff. He planned events and performances, organized and managed auditions to find the required artists, and coordinated the rehearsals necessary to make those performances successful.

Join AYPO at Barnes & Noble!
Wednesday, December 12, 4:00-8:00 p.m.
AYPO is hosting a book fair fundraiser at Barnes & Noble on Wednesday, December 12, 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. This event will take place at the Barnes & Noble store at 12193 Fair Lakes Promenade Drive in Fairfax. Do your holiday shopping and support all of the great AYPO programs! Bring your friends so that they can hear the students perform and learn more about AYPO! AYPO musicians will be needed to perform for B&N customers. Volunteers are also needed to do face painting, assist in crafting activities with children, wrap gifts, and assist as needed. AYPO will sign for service hours for student volunteers. Musicians may perform solos or play in small ensembles. Space is limited, so ensembles will be limited to 5 musicians or fewer, and there will be no piano available. Students from any of the AYPO orchestras may perform.
